Motor

Comparison: Walk-run, bigger-smaller, open-shut

Spatial: in-out

Locating in Space: here-there-behind

Plan: Have fun. Learn about our own space. Learn the word FREEZE. Move like a cat moving slowly and a mouse scampering quickly (WALK - RUN).

Warm-up: Movement ed. Find a space, your very own space where you are not touching anyone or anything. This is your own space. It is yours, no one else is IN it. Reach to the top of your own space, bottom and around your space. It is as big as your reach. You are IN your own space. Use your outside voice. Say,"FREEZE." Now use your inside voice. FREEZE means to stop where you are and not move a muscle and to listen. Let's practice. But remember where your own space is so when I say,"Go home", you can go back to your own space. Move OUT of your own space, walk around the room, FREEZE, walk faster, can try jogging or running, repeat to reinforce FREEZE and finding their own space.

Game or Activity: Name game - say name - clap rhythm - can put to a simple movement pattern with hands. Put music on - move like a cat walking slowly. A mouse scampering quickly. Walk like an elephant, run like a cheetah, jump like a snake. Creep - using only arms. Crawling - using your hands and knees. Crawl through the tunnel.

Free time, Pick-up time, Relaxation: Sit down - take 3 deep breaths - Sing the ABCs - Start loudly and get quieter. End with a story or a talking time.

Christian Curriculum

Monday, September 19
Tuesday, September 20

Objective: To introduce the children to Jesus and the Bible.

Show the children the Bible and tell them that the Bible is God's special book. It is filled with stories about Jesus and other people too. Explain to the children that every time they come to opening music they will hear a short story from the Bible or they will learn something about Jesus.

Show the picture of Jesus. Tell them that Jesus is God's son and he lives in heaven with God. Jesus loves us all very much. We cannot see him, but he is always with us.

Sing "Jesus Loves Me."

Closing Prayer: Dear Jesus, be with us at school today, as we work and as we play. Help us to be kind to our friends. Amen.
