Job Connections is a support group for anyone who is in transition seeking a new job or a new career. The group provides job search information with speakers on specific topics like resume writing and interviewing as well as handouts of written information on job search subjects. Cancer Support Group is a support group for anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer. The group provides a safe and confidential place to share fears and anxieties about living with cancer. The group also offers emotional support in the form of presence, listening, and prayer. Adult Children of Persons with Memory Loss is a support group for adults who have parents or older relatives/friends who have Alzheimers or some other kind of memory loss. Seniors and Caregivers of Aging Loved Ones is a support group for seniors, their adult children, or other caregivers of aging loved ones. This group will discuss topics such as communication between adult children and senior, retirement spending and income, getting resources, transportation, medical issues, and other topics that interest you. Depression Support Group is a support group for those who suffer from depression as well as family members, friends, and other support people. People will gain knowledge about what depression is and how it looks, learn about treatment options, learn how to support someone who is suffering from depression, and gain support through small group discussion. Arthritis Support Group is a support group for those who suffer from arthritis and for caregivers who support those with arthritis. The Arthritis Foundation Self-Help Program is designed to help you learn and practice the different skills needed to build your own individualized self-management program, and gain the confidence to carry out this program. Developed at Stanford University, this six-session program (two hours each session) teaches knowledge and skills needed to better manage your arthritis. 12 Steps for Christian Living is a small group which focuses on recovery from any addiction including alcohol, gambling, over-eaters, co-dependency, and other control issues. The group is for those struggling with addictions as well as family and other support people. This fall, the focus will be on “Celebrate Recovery”, and using works by authors Rick Warren and John Baker. It meets on Sunday mornings, weekly, at 9:45 am at Prince of Peace.
