He was selected after Paul quarreled with Barnabas, his previous coworker.
Silas and Paul traveled through Asia
Minor into Macedonia where they were imprisoned for a night in Philippi. The name of Silas (Silvanus)
appears in a number of Paul's letters (1 Thess 1:1; 2 Thess 1:1).
