Welcome to our page of and for Adult Leader Volunteers! Our Adult Leaders take the time to pour into the lives of our students, impacting the next generation with a deeper understanding of who God is. If you are interested in serving on the Adult Leadership Team, the following is a ministry description.

Ministry Description:
Senior High Small Group Leader
Pray daily for your students by name.

Attend Quarterly leaders meetings and weekly prayer times.
The purpose of the leader meetings are to:
1) Build team with other leaders & staff,
2) Brainstorm with team about program areas that need attention,
3) Gain information about up-coming events.
4) Learn about youth and how to continue to grow in ministering to them.

Strive to meet with your group each week.
Notify the Teen Ministry leadership development staff person in the event you are unable to attend as soon as possible.
Choose and implement 4 service projects throughout the year. The POP Senior High Staff will provide you options to choose from.

A Senior High Small Group Leader IS. . .

  • Committed to the Student Ministry team and its mission statement
  • On his/her own spiritual journey. He/she has committed to working through the Marks of Discipleship: growing spiritually by praying daily, worshiping throughout daily life, reading scripture daily, serving in a Prince of Peace ministry & outside of Prince of Peace, encouraging spiritual growth in others through relationships, and giving [10%] of financial resources.
  • The support for the Student Leader. The Group Leader respect and discern level to which student leads.
  • Not ashamed to be unable to answer a question. However, they are willing to find out the answer.

A Senior High Small Group Leader IS NOT. . .

  • The sole small group leader. They serve in partnership with the Student Leader. A Small Group Leader is first and foremost a positive, active adult sharing the journey toward lifelong discipleship with young people.
  • Expected to be an authority on Christian spiritual doctrine, but can be a resource for where to go for answers.
  • Someone who wants to “fix all these out-of-control young people”. Rather, you can remember your own experience and reach out with grace and love.
  • Someone who wants to be the “favorite” or “buddy” of young people. Your role is as an adult in the lives of teens, sharing with them your discipleship journey and partnering with and supporting them on theirs. It’s not to develop friendships.
  • Someone who showers teens with gifts and treats. Teens are looking for genuine care and concern—for someone to pray for them and support them. Often gifts and treats can lead to hard feelings and uncomfortable situations, both within your small group and for members of other groups with different leaders.
