Spiritual Care is a vital, encouraging, and compassionate ministry at Prince of Peace. It is a ministry that empowers those gifted as caregivers by equipping and commissioning them to be a caring, Christian presence as they relate with others who are experiencing life’s challenges. Commissioned spiritual care ministers provide spiritual and emotional support through conversation, prayer, devotions, reading, communion, anointing and, most importantly, listening. As individuals face transitions in their lives, these Prince of Peace disciples walk with them on their journeys. These challenges include illness, hospitalization, surgery, chronic pain, loss of a loved one and other grief issues, terminal illness, Alzheimer’s, separation, divorce, depression, anxiety, and others. Additionally, spiritual care ministers visit the elderly and serve communion to the homebound.

These one-on-one commitments may range from a one-time visit to an ongoing supportive relationship that may span a number of months and even years if mutually agreed upon.
