Why Make a Commitment in 2012?

Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30. That seems impossible to do as imperfect human beings. Yet we know that God loves us and wants us to love him completely.

In Psalm 24:1 we learn, “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” That means that everything we have comes from and belongs to our abundant God. As Christ’s disciples, we are to care for and use all of these resources wisely. When we share the time, talents and finances that God entrusts to us, we grow as disciples and deepen our loving relationship with Jesus. By giving our resources to do the work God calls us to do, we become partners with God here on earth.

Please prayerfully consider what God would have you share financially in 2012 through mission and ministry at Prince of Peace. In gratitude for God’s gifts to you, please complete a commitment card and place it in the offering bag during a worship service or mail it to the Prince of Peace Finance Office. These gifts will be used to share God’s love within our community and beyond!
