We are an outreach ministry of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Burnsville, MN offering basic
essentials to people in need our community.
For those going through a difficult time, Mission Outpost is a soft place to land. Each week, more than
100 volunteers provide food, clothing, linens, toiletries, furniture, and baby supplies to our community.
|
|
Many of those we serve are referred by public health nurses or other professionals. Others come
referred by family and friends or other churches. Some are members of our congregation; most are not
and many do not have a church affiliation. We ask that those we serve are in Burnsville, Apple Valley,
Eagan, Lakeville, Savage, Rosemount or Farmington.

Mission Outpost is located at 13901 Fairview Drive in the lower level of the Christian Life Center at
Prince of Peace, directly across the street from Fairview Ridges Hospital. Click here for a map.

Volunteer times vary by day of the week and by opportunity. Further below on this page is a detailed listing of
times.

There are volunteer opportunities for most ages, families or individuals. There are some lifting
requirements: in the foodshelf, there is a requirement of needing to lift bags of groceries that could get
up to 25 pound. The furniture ministry would require the ability to lift 25 pounds or more. There are many
opportunities that do not require any lifting. There should be an opportunity for all!

|
Outside groups are always welcome at Mission Outpost. Whether you are a business, youth group or
service group – we have opportunities to serve!
A couple of other ideas can be done within your organization. One would be organizing a seasonal
clothing drive. Another idea would be to organize a food or sundry drive.
Please contact us at outpost@princeofpeaceonline.org or at 952-898-9311 to ask questions.

Donation bins are located by all outside doors of both the Worship Center and the Christian Life Center
at Prince of Peace. We accept non-perishable food, clean clothing and linens in the donation bins. If
you would like to donate furniture, please call our furniture hotline at 952-898-9310 or email us at
furniture@princeofpeaceonline.org.

The South of the River communities have changed over the last several years and there are more
families needing financial assistance or living in poverty right in our own backyard. In response to this
we invite you to please consider supporting Mission Outpost with ongoing support of our food shelf.
Mission Outpost is supported by an amazing volume of donations.
Please visit our Donations page to learn more about donations.
